Biography

Buckinghamshire-born Colin Teague trained at Redroofs Theatre School in Maidenhead, Berkshire and the London International Film School. He began acting circa the early Nineties, making appearances in programmes like Streetwise and The Bill. Directing became Teague's focus around the turn of the century; amongst his first credits were episodes of Holby City and London's Burning, as well as the movie Shooters (2002). He both directed and co-wrote the 2004 crime film Spivs -- in which he also appeared -- and the 2006 action picture The Last Drop. Teague was then recruited to direct two episodes for the first season of the Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood in 2006; he would later handle a pair of stories for its second season in 2008. Next, he directed 2007's Invasion Of The Bane, the pilot episode for another spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Teague finally got to direct for the parent show when he was tasked with the 2007 Doctor Who season finale, The Sound Of Drums / Last Of The Time Lords, which pitted David Tennant's Tenth Doctor against the Master as played by John Simm. He was joined by his wife, Marjorie, who made a cameo appearance as a mother watching television. Towards the end of production, Teague was injured in a fall down the stairs at his house, and Graeme Harper stepped in to complete the serial. Teague was also assigned 2008's The Fires Of Pompeii, which was notable for being filmed in part at Italy's historic Cinecittà Studios. He then moved on to shows such as Harley Street, Trinity and Being Human. Teague enjoyed steady work throughout the 2010s, including episodes of Sinbad, The White Queen, Jekyll And Hyde and Dark Heart. Amongst his credits during the Twenties were Van der Valk, Rashash and Devil's Promise.
