Episodes Broadcast: 2018
Australian-born Jennifer Perrott discovered a passion for directing
while she was completing a degree in film theory at the University of
Technology Sydney. Seeking to make inroads in the profession, she worked
as an assistant editor during the late Nineties, before enrolling in a
directors' course at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School.
Soon after the turn of the century, Perrott made several short films.
They led to work in the United Kingdom on shows like Hollyoaks,
Doctors, Echo Beach, and Stacked with future
Doctor Who companion Karen Gillan. During the 2010s, Perrott
returned to Australia to direct episodes of Offspring, Home
And Away and Newton's Law. In 2016, she wrote, directed and
produced the critically-acclaimed short film The Ravens. Perrott
was then brought onto Doctor Who for its 2018 season, directing
the Thirteenth Doctor, Jodie Whittaker, in The Tsuranga Conundrum and Kerblam!. Subsequent projects
for both British and Australian television included Gentleman
Jack, Secret Bridesmaids' Business, The Midwich
Cuckoos and Rain Dogs.
