Lee Haven Jones

Lee Haven Jones was born in Mountain Ash, Wales. He earned an honours
degree in drama from the University of Exeter, after which he won a
scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Following his
graduation in 2000, Haven Jones established a career as an actor in
shows like Love In A Cold Climate and Caerdydd. However,
he then became interested in directing, and his 2009 documentary Dad
A Fi garnered critical acclaim. Haven Jones began directing for
Caerdydd, and he was soon working on both Welsh-language
programmes such as Pobol y Cwm and 35 Diwrnod, as well as
English-language series including The Indian Doctor, Wizards
Vs Aliens and Shetland. He was both a producer and a director
on 2015's Tir, and then an executive producer on Bang.
Haven Jones founded the production company Joio, and his 2015
documentary Galesa was amongst its initial projects.
Haven Jones directed two stories for Doctor Who's 2020 season,
including the second installment of the season premiere, Spyfall. He also made the 2021
New Year's Day special, Revolution Of
The Daleks, which saw the departures of regular castmembers
Bradley Walsh and Tosin Cole. The same year, Haven Jones made his first
feature film in the form of the horror movie Gwledd (that is,
The Feast). Subsequent television work included episodes of
The Long Call.
