Biography

Inspired to be a writer by Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials novels, Nina Métivier was initially hired as a script editor for Kindle Entertainment. She worked in this capacity during the early 2010s on shows like Leonardo, Big And Small and The Life And Adventures Of Nick Nickleby. Métivier then co-created the children's mystery series Dixi with Dan Berlinka; she served as a producer, and wrote more than seventy episodes. She was also both a script editor and a writer on the animated series Dinopaws. In 2018, Métivier and Berlinka developed the teen thriller The A List. The same year, she worked as a script editor on Doctor Who, after which she was invited to developed an adventure for the programme's 2020 season. The result was Nikola Tesla's Night Of Terror, in which Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor encountered the eponymous inventor. It was originally planned that Métivier would contribute another story during 2021. However, the season was ultimately refashioned as the six-part Flux as a result of the production limitations arising from the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Métivier's narrative was abandoned.
