Simon Fisher-Becker

Simon Fisher-Becker was born in Paddington, London. His acting career
began in the early Nineties, with programmes such as One Foot In The
Grave. In 2001, Fisher-Becker played the ghostly Fat Friar in the
movie blockbuster Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. His
television roles during the decade included Doctors and Love
Soup. In 2006, he married Anthony Dugdale. A longtime Doctor
Who fan, Fisher-Becker was cast as the blue-skinned black marketeer
Dorium Maldovar in 2010's The
Pandorica Opens, featuring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor.
Having impressed the production team, he went on to appear in two 2011
stories -- during which Dorium was eventually reduced to a talking
head!
The 2010s saw Fisher-Becker co-star in the sitcom Puppy Love and
feature regularly in the science-fiction programme Waterside,
alongside one-off appearances in shows like Getting On. A
talented musician and conductor, he was part of the ensemble for the
2012 film version of Les Misérables. In 2013, Fisher-Becker
began appearing in the Doctor Who audio plays from Big Finish
Production, initially as Science Minister Kavil in the fifth season of
the Gallifrey range. He began reprising Dorium with 2018's The
Light Keepers. Fisher-Becker's memoirs have been published in three
volumes by Fantastic Books, starting with 2015's My Dalek Has A
Puncture.
