Biography

Simon Fisher-Becker was born in Paddington, London. His acting career began in the early Nineties, with programmes such as One Foot In The Grave. In 2001, Fisher-Becker played the ghostly Fat Friar in the movie blockbuster Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. His television roles during the decade included Doctors and Love Soup. In 2006, he married Anthony Dugdale. A longtime Doctor Who fan, Fisher-Becker was cast as the blue-skinned black marketeer Dorium Maldovar in 2010's The Pandorica Opens, featuring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. Having impressed the production team, he went on to appear in two 2011 stories -- during which Dorium was eventually reduced to a talking head!

The 2010s saw Fisher-Becker co-star in the sitcom Puppy Love and feature regularly in the science-fiction programme Waterside, alongside one-off appearances in shows like Getting On. A talented musician and conductor, he was part of the ensemble for the 2012 film version of Les Misérables. In 2013, Fisher-Becker began appearing in the Doctor Who audio plays from Big Finish Production, initially as Science Minister Kavil in the fifth season of the Gallifrey range. He began reprising Dorium with 2018's The Light Keepers. Fisher-Becker's memoirs have been published in three volumes by Fantastic Books, starting with 2015's My Dalek Has A Puncture.
