Brian Kelly
Episodes Broadcast: 2006
Although Scottish-born Brian Kelly initially worked as an editor, he
long harboured aspirations to direct. In the mid-Nineties, he was
finally given an opportunity to make episodes of factual programmes like
Carnography and Everyman. Before the decade was through,
Kelly had moved on to the children's show Hububb and his first
drama, Hope & Glory. After the turn of the century, his directing
credits included episodes of Taggart, Sea Of Souls and
Honest, as well as the first two installments of the Doctor
Who spin-off series Torchwood in 2006. During the 2010s,
Kelly began to split his time between British and American projects,
such as Downton Abbey, Lewis, Outlander and The
Loch. Amongst his work in the Twenties were the Terry Pratchett
adaptation The Watch and Around The World In 80 Days
starring the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant.
