Episodes Broadcast: 2006-2009, 2011
Born in Hereford, Herefordshire, Tom Price discovered a talent for
comedy during his youth. This led to his involvement in stage
productions at Warwick University, from which he obtained a degree in
English literature. Having decided against attending drama school, Price
instead pursued acting jobs in London. He made his television debut in a
2005 episode of Absolute Power and, soon thereafter, he
co-starred in the sketch show Swinging. The following year, Price
made a handful of appearances in the Doctor Who spin-off series
Torchwood; he played PC Andy Davidson, the former colleague of
Eve Myles' Gwen Cooper. He returned to Torchwood for three more
episodes during its 2008 run, including an uncredited cameo in the
season premiere, Kiss Kiss, Bang
Bang. Price then enjoyed a more prominent role in 2009's
season-spanning Children Of
Earth, as well as that year's BBC Radio Four play Asylum.
In the meantime, he could also be seen in shows like The Wrong
Door and Doctors, and he began working as a host on BBC Radio
Wales.
Price's talent for comedy led him to establish himself as a stand-up
comic, including multiple appearances at the Edinburgh Festival. At the
same time, he continued to take various television roles, on the likes
of Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, Stella, Victoria
and Tourist Trap. Price's first movie credit came in Clint
Eastwood's 2010 film Hereafter. He returned to Torchwood
for its final season in 2011, with Andy now promoted to Sergeant. Price
also became involved with the range of Torchwood audio dramas
from Big Finish Productions, starting with One Rule in 2015. He
would later play other characters in the company's various Doctor
Who-related strands, and he also wrote the 2023 Torchwood
release Thirst Trap. Price and his wife, Beth Morrey, have two
sons.
